Hi All,
I know that this question is far related to the
group, but tring to seek the ray of hope.
Question is :
How can we programmatically change the preferred audio
device? To be more clear, Let us assume there are 2
audio drivers installed in the machine. These two are
listed in the control panel -> Soind and Multimedia ->
Audio tab -> Sound play back as preferred devices.
So is there an API which can change the device
programmatically.
I found the wave api through which i could enumerate
the installed audio devices.
Any ideas and suggestion most welcome,
Thanks in advance.
Thanks and regards,
Jay

Jay,
There were some discussions about this on the WDM Audio discussion group. I
think the conclusion was that there is no way to do this, but hardware
vendors can set a registry key to make their device the preferred device
after it’s installed. Take a look at:

You’ll have to register, but then you can search the message archive. Check
out message 738.
