How can I recognize that Z: is a network drive ?

Hello,

I have a file name, e.g. Z:\Directory\File.ext.
How can I find that it is a network drive (in kernel mode) ?

I think I cannot query the symbolic link because it seems
that there are no symbolic links for network drives
(At least the WinObj utility does not list any)

There are certainly symbolic links for drive letters. Of course, you
might not be looking in the right spot, but WinOBJ does show this
information.

You could also look at the characteristics of the device that is
managing the specific drive. Do this by opening the volume and then
querying the information about the given volume, or by inspecting the
device object directly.
