Hi all people,
Writing a Windows driver for a device is new to me. I have
both win2kddk.exe and wme_ddk.exe downloaded from the MS website and am
going to have it installed to experience driver writing. Kindly advise ;
- Which software I need install win2kddk.exe or wme_ddk.exe or both
- Could it/they run on Windows ME
- What other software I need to install simultaneously, Visual Basic 6.0,
Visual J, etc ?
- What other attention I have to pay to during its/their installation and
configuration for its/their running ?
- Whether its/their manual/tutorial from the help shall be sufficient for
learning driver writing and/or use of the software ?
Thanks in advance.
B.Regards

Forget Visual Basic or Java. Drivers for Windows 2000 and beyond are written
in C/C++.
You do need the current driver writing books by Oney and Viscarola and
Mason, and above all you need to attend a seminar from anyone of the
