I have it on good authority that a shipment of books went out yesterday, and if you ordered last Saturday it should have included yours. But, then again, it sounded like they’d made a significant dent in our stockpile.
Since it’s too late for me to sign your book, you’ll have to traipse down to Edinburgh in the spring when I’m supposed to teach my brilliant debugging class (I can be bribed with pints of good bitter…)
Oh, and they tell me they have told the store we have a large, almost infinite supply. It’ll never tell you that we’re out of stock again. ![ ](/images/emoji/twitter/wink.png?v=12)

Hmm Sat 4 Feb 15:31 GMT …
Your order includes one or more items that were not in stock at the time
they were
ordered. These items have been backordered and will be shipped to you as
soon as
they are in stock. Please call us with any questions on our backorder
policy.
I hope I managed to bag one of seventy five ![ ](/images/emoji/twitter/slight_smile.png?v=12)

Yes, it is a bit like the shock collar approach. Problems arise once you
are OUTSIDE the containment barrier though… ![ ](/images/emoji/twitter/wink.png?v=12)
Or maybe you just overvalue their opinion of me around OSR.

Tony

Well, I imagined they had you chained to a desk. If not that, perhaps an
electronic shock collar around your neck to make sure you didn’t
wander off.
After all, companies do have to protect their assets.
