Watch out, this is probably an identity theft attempt. Who would violate
the rules of this newsgroup if it was a legitimate job?

You may be a little too suspicious. I replied and received a plausible response
(plausible in that the responder identified herself as being with a specific
company that, I know separately, does the sort of work outlined.)
As to the rules, you may be correct.

I’m very sorry. I did not realize that posting that opportunity was a
violation. I am a legitimate recruiter in the Seattle area and this has
been a very difficult position.
Really? Then you didn’t bother to read the joining notes that are sent to
every person who joins? And you didn’t bother to read the description of
the topic that’s posted?
Recruiters that use tactics such as yours are a scourge on the community. A
legitimate recruiter posting from an AOL account? Give me a break. The
legit recruiters that *I* know are *very* careful to follow the rules, post
from their business accounts, and keep everything totally above board.
Members: Don’t reward such disreputable behavior. If you can’t trust this
person to follow a few simple rules, how could you POSSIBLY trust them to
place you in a job.
You’re banned from this forum, and your posting will be removed from the
archives – Not for violating the rules, but for being so brazen as to do so
then (1) plead ignorance and (2) renew your appeal via the mock apology,
