Hi,
I’m creating a device object with the characteristics FILE_REMOVABLE_MEDIA.
In the start device I then register the pdo with the mount manager and the
DiskClassGuid interfaces. When I install the driver on Windows 2000 the disk
is shown as a removable media, instead when I install the driver on Xp the
disk is shown as a non removable disk and so I don’t have access to the
eject
menu in eplorer. How does XP recognize a removable media from a non
removable
one ?
Thanks
Vincenzo
I’ve found the problem I wasn’t using the “DiskDrive” class in the inf file.

Hi Jamey,
thanks for your help. I don’t know if you saw my previous post, after
looking around in the DDK storage samples I’ve found out that the problem
was related to the fact that in the inf file I was using my own sample class
instead of using the “DeviceDisk” class. Once I’ve changed the class and the
class GUID in the inf to the correct one (the same used in the
storage/class/disk) the problem went away. Now XP shows the disk as a
removable media.
Vincenzo
