Fast I/O Question

Hi,
I am writing a Filter driver over the existing File
System Driver.I am a newbie so i am trying to
understand the code of Filemon application.the driver
which i have written is not handling Fast I/O
currently.
Is it compulsory to handle Fast I/O in a filter
driver? If yes , then i think this is the only reason
why my driver crashes after installation.

I want to learn more about Fast I/O and how to handle
it in a filter driver. The code to handle Fast I/O in
FileMon does not make sense to me.Please suggest me
some books or links where i cud get info about Fast
I/O.

Thank you for all the help ,
