Extension for SoftIce

If there any convenient way to write somthing like winDbg extesion for
SoftIce.
SofIce MACROs are too limited to implement even a simple logic.
I know that WinDbg extensions may be converted to SoftIce, but there are
too many
limitation (at least for SoftIce 2.0) on how extension should be written.
Converting some
of my extensions to SoftIce and trying to start it, I’ve got my system
hung.

Thank you in advance.

We do not currently support programmability for SoftICE. The issue comes up
every once in a while, only to be pushed down the queue by things more
urgent or with higher visibility or demand. But if users like you make
enough noise, I might be able to twist an arm or two in our marketing group,
and who knows ? But I need critical mass, or it won’t happen.

Alberto.

Add me to the mass too. No everydays need but sometimes it would be helpful.
Would you believe once I wrote a (throwaway useless  code which
automatically switched i1here SI variable on because wasn’t able to force
our QA to change SI INIT string after test machine installation? It would be
nice to have an API similar to windbg KD extensions (without use mode DLL
dependencies) + a way how to run SI command programatically.
