I’m looking at the WDK documentation and it seems that under NDIS 6.0 intermediate filter drivers can’t simply set RcvFilterAction to RCV_FLT_BLOCK_PACKET to prevent a packet from going up the host stack to user mode. The documentation makes reference to Alacritec and a patent that they hold on network traffic filtering. Has the possibility to perform this task indeed been removed from Vista?
