Driver Signing on x86?

Hi all,

Is there any special reason for Driver Signing to be implemented only in
x64 systems?

Is there any hardware dependency about this?

Thanks in advance,

It’s not “implemented” only on x64, it’s *required* on x64 (vista+).
It’s not a hardware limitation; it’s an opportunity for Microsoft to
implement a policy that would otherwise break backward compatibility
on x86 systems.

I think this has more to do with ‘seeing how this goes without pissing
everyone off’. Pushing this policy onto the 32bit platforms at this point
would be a non-starter. The x64 base is small enough that it impacts
relatively few vendors.
