I am new to device driver programming.
How should I go about writting Graphics Driver? I have to write my own
TextOut function for windows 98. Gone thr’ MSDN. I got the basic theoretical
knowledge, but could not start. Please suggest some reference material and
sample drivers.

Check for sample code for a printer driver in the DDK.
That should help you in understanding the TextOut function.
The TextOut function should also be documented under the DDK help.
Are you interested in a printer or a display driver ?
