Detection of open PCMCIA slots

I am attempting to detect if there are open PCMCIA slots.

One path I’ve tried is gathering the SMBIOS info. This has been a sort of
iffy proposition. One machine didn’t have any information about them,
another showed they existed, but couldn’t detect that a card was inserted.

From the windows side of things, it appears the only way to gather this info
is thru a device driver. So I downloaded the 2K DDK and have been scanning
that. It seems to tantalize me with hints that this is possible. It
mentions at one point the PCMCIA enumerator. Despite this, I can’t see
anything specifically mentioning how to enum the PCMCIA bus and detect any
slots.

Anyone have any pointers/keyworks I can search for?

Thanks,
Adam
