Commonly referred to as CSMI .
Has anyone used this specification with an HP controller such as a SmartArray P400 and P410? My experience with the HP controllers is that it is either bug ridden or violates the CSMI specification. Case in point when sending it an INQUIRY via a pass through command to a SAS drive, all that returns is the information for the P400/P410 controller formatted like it is the INQUIRY from the drive. Another command that works when using the same drives on other HBAs, is an INQUIRY on page code 3. That one bombs out with a CHECK CONDITION on the HP controllers.
I’m attempting to access individual drives within an existing RAID to allow firmware download.
