Checked ndis.sys causing adapter to disappear

When I replace the existing ndis.sys with a checked version, and then reboot, my lan adapter no longer shows up in the network control panel. The device manager says it can’t load the adapter driver. Any insight would be appreciated…

Turn on full ndis logging and see what the debugger says?
