I am trying to set up my system for driver debugging. I am using the option
of inly using checked version of HAL and Kernel. I am running XP SP1a. When
i expanded the multiprocessor ntkrnlmp.ex_ to ntoskrnl.chk i saw that it has
a date 8/29/2002 where as the free build of ntoskrnl.exe has date of
4/24/2003. I have the latest XP SP1a checked build CD that I used to extract
the files. Should I be worried about these dates? Or is there a newer
version of checked build of kernel available?
Well, considering that XP SP1a was released last fall, the contents
can’t have changed since then, so you can safely ignore the date on the
free kernel.

Infact thats what I did. But now I am seeing some really strange behavior in
the system. First NDIS bug checked, then an antivirus bug checked. So at
this stage I am uninstalling all culprints
