Windows 2000 service pack 4
DDK 2600.1106
Checked build environment
Hello
I built the chapter 7 loopback driver in Art Baker’s book, copied it
to /winnt/system32/drivers, imported the files in the registry and
rebooted. However, the driver does not show up in the device manager
under hidden non plug and play devices. Any idea what could be
wrong?
This is a simple driver which has stubs for read/write/ioctl. The
previous driver which simply demonstrated the driver entry, open, and
close routines worked ok using the same method as above.
On a related note, this driver silently fails. Nothing shows up in
the event log. Where could I find info on why this driver failed to
load?

Hi Jhon,
Change start variable with 2. And setup debug environment or use dbgview
from sysinternals to see whether it is working or not.
Good Luck,
