Hi all:
I am developing 64-bit storage driver, I got a pre-released 64-bit Itanium
machine. I want to install my storage driver which is not in the XP CD, so
I
have to hit F6 to install the driver, for some reason which I don’t know
why, the XP does not recognize the floppy disk drive, it does not even try
to read from the disk. I am using the WinXP 64-bit RC1. But the EFI shell
does see the LS 120 “floppy” disk drive.
I heard that Intel is trying to discourage the use of legacy hardware (like
a floppy drive) in the 64-bit machine, is this the reason why the XP-64bit
can’t see the drive during the OS installation? Or, am I missing something
in my setup?
