Anyway to control dynamic disks with the IFS?

Greetings!

I’m trying to solve a rather nasty issue involving a customer and dynamic
disks. I currently do not own the IFS Kit from Microsoft and wanted to
know from those who down own it whether they have ways to control dynamic
disks with regards to importing foreign volumes, bringing those volumes
online, and possibly even processing the LDM database entries to resolve
potential conflicts with duplicate GUID signatures.

Thanks!
Bob

IFS kit provides nothing in terms of Dynamic Disk stuff. This requires some
information from Veritas, since DmIo is a simplified version of Veritas VxVM
(IIRC).

Somehow I knew someone was gong to say this.

Its really frustrating when you’re trying to solve a problem that could
easily be solved by a simple API call upon which you cannot get access to.

Thanks,
Bob

Have a look at diskpart utility provided by Microsoft. Neither MS/VRTS
provides API to manage dynamic disks.
