Another INF question

I have a customer complaint on device install on Win2k:
The customer installs a PCI card of type X, the system
asks for the install disk, and everything is fine. Some
time later another PCI card of type X is installed, and
the system wants the install disk again. The customer
is asking is the away to get the system not to ask for
the install disk, when installing an identical card to
one running on the system?

Normally the INF (and PNF) file are stored in %systemroot%\inf (as OEMxx)
and Win2K remembers where it got the file from. Whenever I’ve added a new
type where the driver was already available, Win2K has re-instantiated the
existing driver without a problem. However, I’ve normally installed drivers
from a network share, which might make a difference…
