A good basic reference

Hi Matt,

I’ve been reading through the various messages you’ve been contributing to
the NTDEV list, and I’d like to recommend a book that might help you with
some of the conceptual questions you have about NT. The book is called
"Inside Windows NT, Second Edition, by David Solomon - Microsoft Press).
The book is somewhat out of date (1998), but is nonetheless still useful for
describing concepts such as DISPATCH_LEVEL, user/system address space and
the like. I think you’ll find it helpful, and, because it is relatively out
of date, you can probably pick it up for next to nothing.

Good Luck,

-bill

The 3rd edition is out now!
It is now called Inside Windows 2000,
but all the information in the original is still available.

I think it is only available in hardback at the moment.

You know the drill, if you want a fight send a meeting request for the car
park after work, don’t use mailing lists and try to avoid your managers
you never know where they might be watching.
