Is it possible to build NT4 drivers using the Win2K DDK?

OSR_Community_UserOSR_Community_User Member Posts: 110,217
I just installed the Win2K DDK; I need to build a driver that will work on
both platforms. It will not use any Win2K specific stuff, although I had
intended to support the IRP_MJ_PNP entry point.

However, when I built my driver, it linked against a routine that is not
present in my NT4 libs, so it won't load -- I get an error message about
an unresolved symbol.

Is it possible to build an NT4 driver with the Windows 2000 DDK?

Please help!

Rob

In theory, yes. I've done so. I can't really help solve your problem, but
I can tell you that it can work (minewas a storage device, if that helps)

The Win2k DDK release notes state that the DDK is for Win2k driver
development only. As an alternative you can install and use the NT4 DDK
    under Win2k.
