Are you trying to replace the adaptec’s aspi driver with your own.
if so then you should ask adaptec.

Does ASPI support ATAPI interface devices?
We explored this option once and found it not dependable.
look at the faq in adaptec site.

Why do you want to use aspi for atapi? Why not depend on the os support
only?
