I think there may be a small bug (or simply not very user friendly functionality) in the windbg software. It’s minor and doesn’t effect its functionality as a debugging tool.
If you do a kernel debug using a com port, and if you don’t have a debugee connected, then it won’t break, which means the command to stop debugging is disabled. This means that you can’t switch your debug session (say to a dump file) without restarting windbg or starting a new workspace.
It’s basically just an annoyance (to me).
