The public symbols remain bogus.

This is like two years now. One has to fetch the win8 rtm symbols and
install them locally to enable wdflogdump.

Just sharin’ the pain.

Before the release of 8.1 very time we taught a WDF seminar, it’s a royal PITA and whoever’s teaching has to apologize to the students and explain “Microsoft is working on it.”

I’ve had simar experiences. But I have to explain that “Microsoft is
working on it” is isomorphic to “Real Soon, Now” and at other points I
have to explain that part of the training is how to roll your eyes and
say, with the proper tone of resignation, “It’s just WinDbg”.

Knowing some glitch is Not Their Fault turned out to be an important part
of the training.

Yes!

Sort of when something didn’t work out for Julia Child on The French Chef. “Oooops. Well, THAT’s not supposed to happen. Now, what you do in THIS case is…”

You wind-up learning as much, if not more, from the failure.

This should now be fixed. Please let me know if you see any issues.
