can i build NT service and/or driver without DDK ?

Hello all,

Is anywhere other methods to build NT drivers and/or services
WITHOUT NT DDK?
For example, gnu (mingw32) ld linker script?
Or any other compilers/linkers ?

Best regards,

You don’t need the ddk to build a service. The book titled Professional NT
Services from Wrox Press is pretty good at getting a service going.

AFAIK, the Windows 2000 DDK is a free download these days. (See
http://www.microsoft.com/ddk/.) Therefore, there is little reason not to
use the MS DDK. The licensing terms sound sensible. However, I am not
aware of anyone using the DDK with a copiler/linker other than MSVC++.

There are other add-on products that help, but all of them require the DDK
to be underneath them.
