Even Intel VX chipset mobos (which are 3-4 years old) like Asus VX97
support IDE DMA.
Set:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet Services\atapi\Parameters\Device0
DriverParameters = "DmaDetectionLevel = 0x2;"
