Selective mail for new posts?

Since the site got its rebrand I have been struggling working out to get notifications that I am interested in.

The only configuration I can find is to get notifications for all new posts across all the groups. Previously I only lurked in 3 of them.

I am more than happy to set up (another filter) and pipe the posts I don't care about to /dev/null but I was wondering if there is a higher tech solution?

I had the same desired outcome and found I could go to my Profile icon → Person icon → Preferences → Tracking and add categories I'm not interested in to the Muted list.
