XP SP1 IFS kit to create W2K/XP "SP0" drivers?

Hello,

the XP SP1 kit documentation says that it creates drivers for W2K SP3 and
XP SP1. Is there any good reason why the drivers will not run on bare W2K
or XP installations?

I am asking because not all customers are willing to install latest
Windows SPs as long as everything is working. (Never touch…)

I am going to use the XP SP1 kit to get the IoCreateDeviceSecure()
function, which is implemented in a lib and therefore probably not
requires any OS updates.

Thanks in advance,
Detlef.

There may be APIs defined in each respective NTIFS.H which do not exist
on versions before the specified Service Packs. If your filter does not
use those APIs then you should not have a problem.
