Our current driver does not maintain it at all. It was written by some student and it’s written awfuly. I’m writing a new driver from scratch. Currently focused on synchronization and caching mechanisms. Only starting to experiment with file mappings (I think I will have to make them working in couple of months).
If you have some links, docs or a piece of advise, you’re always welcome

Thanks.
I did try waiting longer than one hour. I still see no any WRITE operation on that file.

Wait for couple of minutes after .zip file is closed. You would probably see paging IRP_MJ_WRITE. I think Windows uses file mapping when creating .zip archives.

Thanks.
Using filemon, I can see FASTIO_READ. But no FASTIO_WRITE when create such zip file.

Subject: [ntfsd] Writing .zip file can’t be hook.
Hi all,
I did development a filter driver doing fly encryption and decryption on Windows XP. It works perfect on most case. But I can’t hook the IRP_MJ_WRITE when create zip file on WinXP. What I did is, high light some files, right click mouse, and set to -> compressed (zipped ) folder, then system creates a zip file. I used filemon tool to see all IRPs, but I can’t see the IRP_MJ_WRITE being called. Does anyone know how to hook those IOs. Thanks a lot for any input.
Cary Fu
