[WLK 1.4] 'Plug and Play driver test' - NDIS IM driver

Hello!

The previous version of driver was WHQL-certified couple of months ago for Vista & XP families (Unclassified). After minor changes we’d like to make re-certification. Latest QFE on Studio, all updates, clean client Vista on same hardware as used previously. But - after pnpd test pass there is no network on the client. In Device Manager I see my miniport (actually - ether driver of my NIC + same name followed by ‘- MY_DRV Miniport’) with active ‘Enable’ option. After enabling network is on and test is shown as ‘Passed successfully’ in Studio, and Submission status is OK, estating submission will probably pass

  • Pass[4] Fail[0] -:|:- Plug and Play Driver Test [Infrastructure Logs]
  • Pass[1] Fail[0] -:|:- RunJob - Plug and Play Driver Test - Library Job
    Pass[1] Fail[0] -:|:- Install Filter Driver
    Log: Present [pnpdtest-log.xml]
    Pass[1] Fail[0] -:|:- Run Remove PNPDTest
    Log: NotRequired
    Pass[1] Fail[0] -:|:- Run Surprise PNPD Test
    Log: NotRequired [pnpdtest-log.xml]
    Pass[1] Fail[0] -:|:- Run Rebalance PNPD Test
    Log: NotRequired [pnpdtest-log.xml]
    }

From client log files i also do see that all PnP tests passed successfully and filter driver removed.
WLK: 1.4.7100.017

I’m lost - from one hand, test is marked successful with such a help during process, from the other hand - it might be discovered from logs (moreover, not all logs are getting copied to controller due to net abcense for sometime).

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Axel

Hi Axel,
run Rebalance test manually. Does it end with an error dialog “Device node status not as expected: problem code 0”?
I suspect pnpdt ends on the error (in batch processing) and it does not revert changes made by pnpdt as it does when you click the OK button of the dialog (when ran manually).
