Windows XP Inf File

have same inf file for windows 2k & xp
i am working on for printer class

.
.
.
[Manufacturer]
“ABC”

[ABC}
“XXX” = zzz.dll
LPTENUM\Co.NameModelNameXXXX,CompanyNameModelNameXXXX
“XXX” = zzz.dll Co.NameModelNameXXXX,CompanyNameModelNameXXXX
.
.
.
.
After installing the printer for parallel port,
on rebooting the system, if the printer is switched on, drivers
will be installed automatically in windows2000 but in case of
windows XP it is not so instead it asks for the user interface
to
supply the driver files(because hardwareid or deviceid whatever it
is not matching & rank order is not 0). Is it different in case of
WindowsXP.
One more thing what i have noticed in the registry is under
LPTENUM. it generates a key in that HardareID the value will
be…
LPTENUM\Co.NameModelNameXXXX Co.NameModelNameXXXX
but in case of Windows 2000 it will be…
LPTENUM\Co.NameModelNameXXXX
if so for windows XP in the inf file how to give hardwareid

can anybody help
thanks in advance

Hey!

It is nothing to do with these sections what you wrote. But look at the sections as [CopyFiles], [Install], [SourceDirectory], and [DestnationDirectory].

Best of luck
