OSR is pleased to announce the first-ever Windows DDK Bug Bash! And, while
this does not include the IFS Kit documentation, we know that those of you
developing file systems rely upon the DDK documentation as well as the IFS
Kit documentation.
We’ve all had complaints at one time or another about the DDK: Perhaps
you’ve found an error in the documentation, or you found a bug in one of the
DDK sample drivers, or you’ve found a DDK utility that doesn’t work as
documented.
NOW there’s something you can do about it… AND we’ll give you a FREE copy
of the 3-volume printed Windows 2000 DDK doc set (from MS press, retail
value US$169) just for participating.
Here’s how it works: OSR, in cooperation with Microsoft, is holding a “bug
bash” on the DDK. Find a bug in the DDK and report it via the form
available on the OSR web site. OSR staff members will review your report,
and assuming we agree that you’ve found a legitimate technical bug, we’ll
send you your free hardcopy DDK doc set.
In addition, if at the end of the Bug Bash, our panel of OSR and Microsoft
developers agrees that your bug is one of the five best we received… you
get even a bigger prize: Keyboards, mice, games, free OSR seminars.
Perhaps best of all, your bugs get reported so they’ll eventually get FIXED.
Check out the bug bash info (and the official rules) at http://www.osr.com
Note that we now also have the very latest version of the Windows DDK
documentation (including the latest Windows XP updates) readable and
full-text-searchable on the OSR web site. Follow the link on our home page
to the right location.
[Regarding this email: You know that we at OSR never abuse the privilege of
emailing to this list. For example, we NEVER send announcements about our
seminars or products to members of this list. The bug bash is not a
money-making activity for OSR, and is being run by OSR for the benefit of
the driver development community. We just thought you’d like to know… our
policy on this hasn’t changed, and will not change.]
