Windows 98 drive access problem

Hi,

On Windows 98, there is often a blue screen error that is seen

indicating “Error reading disk in :”. There is

no binary name information on the blue screen. The problem does

not seem to be with my storage driver because, even with softice

Installed and symbols loaded for the storage driver, softice

does not break when the bluescreen occurs, instead the bluescreen occurs.

At the time the error occurs, i see that i indicate an error up due to a communication problem.

However its not clear from where the error

“Error reading disk in :”

Please insert Disk NO NAME

Has anybody come across such a problem?

The screen might be blue but this is not a blue screen as such. This is
only how harsh Windows 9x is when it doesn’t find the media when it used to
be! :] It is not a crash, just a pretty rude way to prompt the user to
insert a disk.
