Hello,
We maintain a large number of websites here and have quite a few IIS/MTS
based com objects developed in-house. Because of the problems with
debugging crashing IIS applications and servers we created a Symbol server
to house our developer’s symbols. The problem is that SymSrv reports an
error when trying to resolve symbols for the different in-house modules in
the dumps.
All of the objects were written in visual basic 6.0 sp5 and have been built
with the symbolic debugging options enabled. As for SymStore usage. our
build environment automagically stores our .PDB files into the symbol
server when a viable build is sent to our testing web server.
The details:
‘!sym noisy’ reports:
SYMSRV: Insufficient information querying for CR_DataAccessServices.pdb
Could someone explain what is wrong/what we need to do to enable SymSrv to
have enough ‘information’ to properly query our in-house symbol server for
these files.
Debugging workstation is using WinDbg 4.0.0011.0 on Windows2k Sp2. This
problem also occurs in the 3.0 windbg.
Any help would be appreciated. Also, I can send out any additional
information that would be useful to those willing to help.
