Win2000 Server checked build

Hi all,

We are looking out for windows 2000 server checked
build CD in msdn subscription but failed to find the
same in the latest march 2001 msdn subscription.

Wondering as to whether microsoft has released Win 2k
Server checked build version cd with msdn
subscription. If so, please let me know.

Kavitha.

Hi there!

As far as I know, Microsoft did not release Win2k Server as Checked Build,
the Win2k Pro only… But this should be sufficient for most purposes,
although I’d still like to have a checked server

Greetings,
Alex

MS did not release a checked build of Win2K nor was one available for NT4.
You can “make” one by replacing certain files. I’ve done this for NT4 but
not had to for Win2K. (There’s been no reason to.)

Is there a specific reason why the checked build has to be server? With the
exception of a few services, the bits are, for all practical purposes, the
same. You can do all your testing with Pro checked and obtain the results
you need for debugging purposes.

I can think of one reason only, so far - that is that DFS only runs on
server, and my driver currently causes a bugcheck 0xC000028 in DFS… I’m
still trying to figure that one out…

OK and so why does it have to be a checked build to debug this?
