Wii IO Manager time out any pending IRPs?

Hi,

First, there is no time out value assigned from the application side. Will
I/O Manager will cancel any pending IRPs? I have noticed my Cancel routine
is called (by IO Manager?) if I KeStallExecutionProcessor() too long at
DISPATCH_LEVEL.

The i/o manager will cancel i/o when the application closes. Other then
that, the i/o manager will not timeout io

Sometimes, if the driver is processing an IRP, and if you try to close
the app which originated the IRP, the system throws out an error “Access
Denied”. If the i/o manager cancels the IRP when the app closes, this
should not happen. Elaborations?

Can you explain what you mean when you say “the system throws out an
error access denied”.

Who’s getting this error? Is it the driver? The application? Does it
just show up in a hard-error popup? What is the driver doing when this
happens?

No it will not, unless the app is in the process of being terminated.
