I’m trying to find why USB remote wakeup doesn’t work at Vista. I installed checked build USB drivers and enables debug leves and mask to see traces. I can see something but not enough. I’d noticed these drivers use WPP (in addition to traditional approach?!). It seems the info I’d need is there but to utilize it, I’d need to enable correct logger and get correct TMF files with format strings. Is is possible to get it somewhere? It seems even PDB doesn’t contain trace GUID. When I pointed TraceView to usbport.pdb, it wasn’t able to find anything. An I missing something?
Well, I’d prefer to not debug OS code but what can I do when basic feature doesn’t work? Yes, I can report it as a bug but I’d prefer to get as much info as I can before. And I’m affraid the report will be closed as not reproducible by some incompetent support person (as they did even with easy to reproduce problems with complete logs attached :-/ )
