Hi,
I have a virtual host controller driver, and when i conduct WHCK test , i encounter a failure of the test item : USB-IF Certification Validation Test (Controller)
So my question is should I test with “USB-IF Compliance Program” to mark it as USB-IF certified though my device is just a virtual device ?
If needn’t, how can i skip this test to make the test passed?
I saw that the USBCV toolset test case almost aim at the real device.

Are you trying to get WHCK certification for the entire system, or just
the virtual host controller? I doubt that you will be able to get
USB-IF certification for a virtual host controller, so I don’t think you
have a chance to pass that test. You may be able to apply for a
variance on that one test.
If you are just trying to get WHCK certification for the controller,
why? What’s the point?

Get WHCK certification just for the virtual host controller.
the virtual host controller is product to support some function drivers. we should keep it certified and smoothly used on any version of Windows.
If i can not pass the test , how can i bypass of it ?

I don’t think you’re going to be able to do that. The WHCK categories
are designed to test real hardware. You can’t get the Windows logo for
a virtual device. You might be able to submit it as an unclassified device

Certification is not required for “smooth use”. If you can pass all of
the other USB host controller tests, then your device is in pretty good
shape. Just sign the driver yourself.
