What of SDK is needed for DDK ?`

Hi,

As per my information, SDK is required to build the drivers using DDK. The
latest SDK default installation (January 2001) takes upto 700 MB !
So can anyone please tell what exactly is required to be installed from the
SDK? To frame it the other way, what is the minimum installation of SDK
needed in order to function DDK properly.

Thanks and Regards,
Abhijit

Win2K DDK does NOT require SDK. It just requires Visual C++ 5.0 or 6.0,
Professional or Enterprise edition.

WinXP doesn’t require SDK or VC++. It’s a standalone product with its
own compiler, linker, etc.

NT4 DDK uses ONLY setenv.bat from SDK.
w2k DDK does not use SDK at all.

Nope. You have to be a MSDN subscriber.
