Can anyone tell me what “Loader error 3.” means or where I can find
documentation on such error messages?
I’m maintaining a non-PnP driver that loads at SERVICE_BOOT_START time. I’m
running on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server machine (no service packs). At
one point I had Windows XP Beta 2 installed so the system is using the XP
beta 2 loader. Out of the blue, I began receiving “Loader error 3.”
messages very early in the boot sequence. A little digging and I determined
it was my driver that evoked this response. It appears to have been a build
problem with my driver although I saw other behaviors that were
inconsistent with that conclusion. Even though the problem disappeared, I’m
left with this mysterious “Loader error 3.” message. Does anyone have any
information they can share?
