What are steps to uninstall a file system filter driver manually?

Hi,

I have successfully installed an filter driver by using .inf file. But I am
not clear the steps to uninstall it. I know several locations such as a
registry entry and the .sys file that I can remove manually. So what else
should I remove?

Thanks,

Shangwu

I think you can try DeleteService.

If you use the INF install model, there is a way to uninstall from the
“Computer Management” snapin. Go into the device manager section and
then select “view” - and enable “show hidden devices”. Now go into the
“Non plug and play devices” tree node. Find your driver, right-click
and choose “uninstall”. That is it. The uninstall rules in your INF
file will run - which if you use the sample INF files that come with the
IFS KIT, will uninstall your filter.
