It was good. I’ve got a lot of STX/SeaDIF fires to put out this morning.

Well of course DDC-HEC-WIN is NDA’d and I haven’t been able to sort out what
was publicly stated in WIN-HEC-DDC so details will be short. On the opinion
side: it would be far better if they did DDC like they did the first time,
on campus and separated by as much time as possible from winhec.
There wasn’t a huge amount of new material but a lot of the not-quite-so-new
material is in much better shape and much nearer to reality than it was last
time. So I’d give it a 7 where the first DDC was a 9.

Sorry for that. I wasn’t paying attention and thought it was a private
query. LOL!
On an unrelated note, I’m trying a different mail format, hoping to fix the
problem some of you reported that, on Outlook, anyway, my fonts are
miniscule and grey on white, almost invisible. (Have I already mentioned
that Lotus Notes is the worst e-mail I have ever used!!!) Someone please
let me know if my font is readable?
Thanks,

I didn’t know it was so bad until some people made note of it. So it

I did notice. This is much better. I use OE just so I can have multiple
newsgroup servers and I can drag a newsgroup message to an email folder to
save it. I would hope for better, but I haven’t seen one yet. Yes, Lotus
Notes is relatively bad. I prefer POP3 and SMTP. I use Comcast and I like
being able to use a secure version. They allow me to send from an external
IP address if you have the secure validated connection.

Not to continue this (almost) completely OT thread indefinitely, but I’m
very familiar with the NNTP interface to the OSR lists. In fact, I still
keep a local archive current, as it simplifies some searches. I prefer the
more real-time aspect of e-mail, as I really don’t want to keep OE polling
incessantly for new posts.
Thanks to all for responding.

I agree; I thought the first one was fantastic and this one was pretty
good. I had a great time putting more faces with names. Some very
interesting technology is on the way, and I learned about a new bug
related to dummy pages that I seem to have been shipping for a while
now.
I’m always impressed with the level of talent present in those
conference rooms.
