VS11 IDE-less install

In the “Developing drivers in Visual Studio” talk at //build, Kevin & Doron made reference to a forthcoming whitepaper on best practices for creating a “headless” VS11 install–i.e., an install of the compilers without the IDE, suitable for a command-line driven build server environment. Is there any update on the availability of this paper?

We are still working on it. We hope to have a version publicly available soon.

Excellent. Thanks for the update! I hope the same applies to the “Metro Style Device Apps for Specialized Devices” (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/windows/hardware/br259133) page.

Gabe

The paper covers building desktop applications and drivers, it will not cover ide less metro app building

Oops. Sorry for the confusion. My “I hope the same applies” comment refers to the hope that both documents will be available soon, not a hope that they would both apply to the same topic. I’ve been interested in reading both documents since //build.
