VS 2012 driver update problems

Can anyone point me to an FAQ or advanced tutorial for this transition?

I have an existing driver project that builds 2 static libraries, and links
them in with the final driver, and my gut feeling is this is what is causing
the problem. Some of my projects complain that they can’t find wdf.h,
although some of my wdf drivers compile just fine.

Thanks for any help,

Diane

Did you use the project conversion tool? In the sources files that build the libs, were there any KMDF/WDF directives in them?

Yes, I did use the conversion tool. All my sources files say
KMDF_VERSION_MAJOR=1

I did have to change the Platform Toolset for the .libs to
WindowsKernelModeDriver8.0.

I guess then the TARGETTYPE was LIBRARY, not DRIVER_LIBRARY in the sources and as such the tool didn’t know what type of toolset to set.

Yes, you are correct. Would it make a difference if I changed the sources
file to DRIVER_LIBRARY and re-generated the project? FYI, the lib that
doesn’t do anything WDF-specific compiles fine.

I figured it out after comparing .vcproj files.

The erroneous file had this:

I changed to this: KMDF

Maybe this was an error in generating the file? Is there a setting
somewhere that should have allowed me to change this without editing the
project file?

Thanks
