Volume Shadow Copy

Does anyone know how to create a snapshot volume
on Windows 2003? I am talking about snapshot of
the volume ,not shadow of flders. I looked at
Disk Management and all there is seems to be
file folder shadowing foe NTFS.

Thanks,

Is it because the underlaying disk type is not RAID?
I imagine if the device is a RAID enclosure, then
then VSS would know that it might have a hardware
provider associated with it and try to do the
hardware volume snapshot? Otherwise it will just
do the software shadowing, right?
