I’m trying to get debug output to work on vista. The docs talk about
“Debug Print Filter” and “DPFLTR” but they all disagree about what is a
key, value etc. Bottom line I can’t get it to work. Can someone who has
gotten it to work tell what does?
Thanks,
Ken
Never mind I figured it out.

Hi Peter,
Well I read Hectors article first and then read the MSDN one which
doesn’t mention the value DEFAULT. I also looked other googled links
(which I can’t find now) with .ppt slides. They mentioned the key and
then included “Debug Print Filter” as a bulleted point but did not
clarify it as a value or key. It did not mention DEFAULT. Also one
article mentioned DPFLTR as a value. I was also thrown when they was no
existing “Debug Print Filter” key.
After getting it to work I read Hectors again.
So in the end Hector was right on! Next time I’ll go to OSR first and
stop there unless it doesn’t work.
Long live Hector!
Thanks,
Ken

For the archive, Hector talks about the issue here:
http://www.osronline.com/article.cfm?article=295
And the MSDN docs are here:

_g/hh/DevTest_g/DebugFns_5b4667cc-86aa-4269-891f-aff219c79f93.xml.asp
Ken… What did you discover? Are both/either/neither of these correct?

The strange thing is I’m using DbgPrint() at Vista as before and haven’t noticed any problem. Maybe because I use DebugView to capture traces? IIRC it hooks some way directly into DbgPrint() and doesn’t use int2d handler.
