Vista Beta 2 and loading HBA drivers

Until my Vista Beta ID cycles through the process to allow me to get into
the beta newsgroups, perhaps someone here knows.

How do you load an HBA driver? I have an SiI680 board with 2 Seagate 80Gig
drives that I use to boot, but Beta 2 does not give me the option to "
Load Drivers" as Beta 1 did. Thus when the install boots the system it
hasn’t the proper drivers and commences to crap all over itself.

Gary G. Little

If this is true beta 2 I haven’t seen it, if this is 5270 look for “advanced
options” when it asked where to install.

Almost forgot, make sure you have a partition created and formatted
first. Vista doesn’t know how to do that properly yet. If you can’t
create and format the partition ahead of time, you need to shift+F10 to
get a command prompt where you can run diskpart, etc. when booting from
DVD. (haven’t tried that yet, but this is advice I was given)

And as Don was saying, the buttons are at or near the location where
you pick which drive/partition you want to install on.

You boot the 5270 DVD, choose “Install Now”, “Next” on Install
Windows, “Next” after product key entry, “Next” on license agreement,
“Custom” install, and now you’re at the “Where do you want to install
Windows?” page. Below the listbox that would have shown one or more
drives/partitions there is an “Advanced” button. After selecting the
“Advanced” button there is now a “Load Driver” button.
