(sorry for crossposting)
Hi all,
has anybody an experience with virtual disk driver on XP? I have a driver
which works well on NT4 and w2k and after adding new geometry IOCTLs also
on XP. With one exception: explorer doesn’t show my drives. They are
visible and usable from any other application and also from explorer when
opened on demand. They aren’t in the list even if I kill explorer and
restart it. The driver is legacy disk driver which creates drive devices
using IoCreateDevice() and assigns drive letters using
IoCreateSymbolicLink(). Drives are created and mounted on demand from user
application after some verification (fingerprint) and data are stored in
files. I don’t want to rewrite driver for PnP, just make it working on XP
and ideally don’t break binary compatibility with NT4 and XP. As I wrote,
everyting works but explorer. Any idea welcome. Thanks.Best regards,
