Is it possible for an File system filter driver to unload itself from the
file system stack.

Microsoft does not officially support it, as mentioned in
FileSpy sample (or SFilter, maybe both).
I have experimented with that, and it worked.
but I did not do any thorough tests.

“Classic” SFILTER-based FS filters cannot be unloaded.
Possibly the Filter Manager-based can.
