Hello all,
I have a device(just any device, like a TV-tuner), and I don’t have
any information about it, neither drivers, nor specification nor any
other info(including internet search). All I know is only destination
of that device(e.g. TV-tuner).
And I want to detect all its resources like I/O ports, IRQ’s, base
addresses, etc. to make a driver on my own(for example). How to research
it with using only software, what kind of software to use and is it
possible at all?
May be that questions sound strange(plz don’t be LOLing on me :), but
I’d like to hear your opinions.
Thanks,
Michael
Impossible without knowing the device spec - what register does what.
Even reverse-engineering of a driver will be a bit hard without knowing the
spec.
